MountainView Management Company provides institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals with outsourced portfolio management and related advisory services for investments in residential whole loans and other mortgage assets. The company is the manager of the MountainView Mortgage Opportunities Funds, which are structured as limited partnerships. As of September 30, 2016, Funds I, II and III had collectively purchased 2,746 loans, and the management team produced wins (gains) on 93.4% of the loans no longer in the portfolio of Fund II.

Investment Process

  • Use the clients of MountainView Capital Group, a residential whole loan transaction advisory affiliate, as well as government entity sales to source assets
  • Employ disciplined bottom-up/loan-level analyses in bidding, buying, managing and selling assets
  • Have in-house transaction management and legal teams tasked with negotiating purchase and sale agreements, reviewing loan and collateral files, and managing the closing on all deals
  • Develop an active management strategy for each loan, based on initial bid and final bid due diligence findings and the loan’s ongoing performance
  • Have a credit oversight group, with loan files in hand, work closely with mortgage servicers to implement each loan’s management strategy, fast track decisions and actions, and maximize returns
